Katy, This is an area I don't really know anything about, but I will much sooner than I like to think about. All I can say is that pretty much everyone goes through it, and sometimes it takes years, but it seems like people do find peace with it. And so will you. I'm far off and often more out of touch than I should be, but I'm still always here for you so don't hesitate to call if I can do anything. I love you! April
Perhaps, it's a good thing that you don't get it out of your head. You remember his presence and you realize his absence. You haven't come to grips with letting go. But, it keeps him fresh in your mind. All the good things you've mentioned. And perhaps, a bit of that rubbed off on your dad. Or other members of the family that he's influenced.
My grandfather and older brother are gone. Many years now, but I still remember them and I still think it's remarkable that I won't get to talk with them again.
So I just remember as much as I can about what their lives meant to me. And it just doesn't seem so bad anymore. It's as if they are always with me. You know?
