Geonncannon, I totally applaud the risk and the idea that you went with. As you warned, there was something off about the meter. I am only vaguely familiar with the original, so that totally could have been the fault of the original. I did love the line about Jack, mighty Jack stepping up, loved the image and it made me smile.
*Wipes brow* Whew! Shortly after I posted, I noticed a missing apostrophe and thought for sure that would bounce me out, what with competition being so tough at this stage.
If anyone wants to talk pros or cons of "Just One Question," I'm game.
Hee! I saw that and the abbreviations for Colonel which had me glaring. :) But I voted a different story as the worst for various other reasons - and besides, I had to laugh at your Major Matt Mason reference. lol Good job!
Yeah, the abbreviation for colonel when attached to a name is my AP style habit getting the better of me. Sometimes I forget that the rest of the world doesn't need to use it. Glad you liked the Matt Mason reference. Sam at first didn't even really have much of a role until my second go-round when I couldn't think of a toy for Rodney to have bought. So I'm glad both of them popped up (also thought about mentioning a Matt Mason movie tie-in, but figured that would be a bit much. But it's all head canon, now!)
I had an issue where I couldn't tell if the entry was a standalone idea that we were just seeing snippet of or if it actually was meant to go with an episode that I couldn't quite remember. I felt like I was missing something. I also found Daniel to be a little too apathetic (though, I loved his baseball and hockey line.)
I guess it was a stand alone because it really wasn't based on an episode. I just created a scenario and put the characters into it. :) Good point! Thanks!!
