just now, i was sitting on the couch, thinking about lines i'd use in my autobiography, if i ever decided to write one.  the particular line that came to mind was "I first knew that my love affair with autumn was to be life long after I experienced it in New York".  Although that particular sentence is far too wordy, so I'd probably edit it down ( Read more... )

Ellipses are one of my favorite punctuation marks. Or rather, they are my favorite for fiction and semicolons are my favorite for formal writing. Yes, I am actually that dorky.

And have you read Atonement? A lot of the writing style is stream-of-consciousness that is almost Woolfian. You might enjoy it.

I have read it, and I enjoyed it very much, partially for the reason you mention. I'm glad you also made the Woolf/McEwan connection.

Things are pretty stressful right now, but should ease up in about a month. At some point I'm planning to take a trip up to NY and floor hop for a few nights. I hope we can hang out if/when that happens. I miss having my fellow lit dork in my life.
