Why'd you have to go and make things so complicated?

According to the NOAA weather report, we currently have "snow freezing fog."

Snow freezing fog. Snow freezing fog.

No matter how many times I say it, it doesn't make any more sense.

I mean, it looks like snow... falls like snow... piles up on the ground like snow... Can't we just call it snow?

It's clearly coming from the arctic spigot.

i'd never heard of this and had to look up fog on wikipedia. there's an article describing more types of fog than Baskin Robbins has zit-faced workers. NOAA should be saying "snow; freezing fog." snow falls down as you mentioned, and freezing fog moves in whatever direction in wants, leaving frozen droplets in it's path. together ... they fight crime.

There are a lot of ways you could have ended that statement.

Together... they leave a trail of bodies in their wake.
Together... they'll teach the world to sing in perfect harmony.
Together... they're the funniest sitcom pairing since Perfect Strangers. (Wait, what am I saying?!)
