Politics The Second

Bush is so lucky to have Cheaney as his Vice-President.

I'd leave it at that, but of course I have more to say.

So I watched the Vice-Presidential debate last night, and I have to say I was impressed. I've always taken Cheaney for an asshole that just attacks everyone, but he actually did really well. I don't mind him too much. However, Edwards ( Read more... )

One thing that I think people are missing in both of the debates is a statement that teh Bush ticket keeps making. They continue to say that standing up a democracy will help to stop terrorism. I do think that remaining silent was a defensive move by Cheney because clearly he doesnt disagree with edwards on that one. I still dont see the comparison to TR though. TR was a progressive who sought to destroy the huge monopolies and trusts. HE was also a great conservationist which no one has accused the republicans of being in recent years. I didn't mean the comparision as in their ideals and whatnot. I just always thought of TR as aggressive and kind of a bully, but got what he wanted done. Cheaney does the exact same thing, despite the fact that he isn't president.

most profound thing said so far. As I have said from teh beginning if the republican are going to attack Kerry's character it is compensitory that he respond in kind. It is one thing to say that dems take the high road and dont do negative shit but if they do that again they wont win. Anybopdy remember dukakis?
