Loved and snagged 16 and 17. Very good first try. I still have NO idea how to make screencaps, let alone icons, so well done you :)
Will credit if/when used of course
Thanks x

Thank you! I actually didn't do the screencaps. I used the caps from http://doctorwho.time-and-space.co.uk/coppermine/index.php and inadream_caps.

Nice job for a first time. :)

Though I think that her face is a just a tad too blurry, I still think the effect you achieved on #2-5 is lovely. Also like #7 (Tennant can do some of the best faces & I like your choice of font for it), and #24 (which I'm pretty sure was the exact thought going through everyone's head during that scene. :p).

Thanks! I never truly realized how small 100 x 100 graphics really are until I started playing!

I'm not sure how other people make icons, but I made them larger as scalable vector graphics and then scaled them down when I exported as bitmaps. I think that is where some of the extra blur comes from. I'll have to try a different sizing technique next time.

I started out making icons at the 50x50 size, so it when I joined up on LJ, It was a huge change. So much more space, lol.

Ah, Not the way I work, but then I don't really think there is a right and wrong way. When I pull out a screencap/image, I scale it down and position it until I'm happy, and then I start to work on it in the 100x100 format.

I'm not sure which program(s) you're using but, if you've got a "Sharpen Tool" handy, that will clear that problem right up. :)

I'm using a few different programs. I used Photoshop Elements to do the image effects on some of them as well as cropping/resizing. I've then used Inkscape to do text effects and any other shapes/coloring. I've been using Inkscape for a few weeks, but I just tried Photoshop Elements today, so I'm sure I'm not using it up to its potential.

I opened #5 in Elements and tweaked the sharpness. It does look better and less blurry. Thanks so much for the tips! I'm can't wait to keep playing :)

Those are great comments/suggestions. I think I will try some new techniques next time. Basically I was working big and sizing down, and so where some of the effects looked good large, they get lost when sized down. I'll need to work on them at the actually size. I should get some better results that way.

Thanks so much for taking the time to make such detailed suggestions. I really appreciate it!
