Plagiarized again, yay (NOT!).

So apparently this site - http://www.ebooks-tree.net/ - took two of my fics and posted them without my knowledge or consent. Thanks to cincoflex for alerting me! *hugs ( Read more... )

They snagged three of mine, but I guess they got inundated with enough complaints they removed all the ao3 fics from their site. Also, there was talk that the site is a phishing scam. *smh*

Unreal! Did they really think we wouldn't find out/ drown their inboxes with complaints??

Also, there was talk that the site is a phishing scam. *smh*

I would believe anything about that site right about now.

Methinks if you're stealing fanfic, organized and logical thinking is not at the top of your list of attributes.

I guess not. Still, from a business perspective (since I presume they stole our fics to make $$$ off them), it just doesn't make sense to me.

It's like a grocery store selling obviously half-full jars of spaghetti sauce; your clientele must surely be pissed off when they are paying for access to incomplete/ incomprehensible stuff. And it's not like the OTHER fics I have on A03 aren't complete and self-contained...

I hope that site dies a quick death. *glares*

May I direct people to your post? And to use an old Yiddish curse:

May they be buried in a glass coffin so they can see me throw dirt in their faces.

:)

Certainly! The more we hound them, the more they will think twice about pulling this shit again.

Oooh, I love that curse! *snags it for future use*

Apparently, a couple months ago when AO3 was having issues with their servers and their site went down is when this ebooks-tree was swiping all the files

Wow, that is just....WRONG on so many levels. Note to ebook-tree: if your 'product' involves hacking and crashing another website, maybe you should consider that what you are doing may not be corporately responsible!!!???

But mine have been removed now as well, so hopefully they go to hell with their little hand basket of bad intentions. :)

Yay! And I agree heartily. Let's hope the entire site vanishes, and soon!
