1. Story behind your LJ Layout? It’s a pretty basic default, because I am lazy with the tech-tweaking. Purple background, because purple is one of my favorite colors, and the shade compliments the purple in my profile picture. Profile picture is a crop of a Junko Mizuno piece. Her art has just the right combination of cute and gruesome, which really appeals to my (somewhat twisted) sensibilities.
2. What's bothering you right now? The extreme messiness of my living space, and the fact that I’m exhausted this week. Also my chubbiness and feeling that I have been greatly neglecting my body. Summing up: Getting myself to overcome my tendency toward sloth and apathy.
3. Do you close the door when you pee? Only when we have company.
DESCRIBE YOUR:
4. Wallet? It’s a home-made tape wallet that I made about 3 years ago. The layered-collage under the tape is a drawing of a monarch butterfly over photography of peacock feathers and pansies and macro photography of butterfly wings with the words “Eternal Spirit”. I are the crafty.
5. Wallpaper on your computer's desktop? Work computer: A photograph of the Hagia Sophia (Istanbul, Turkey) at twilight. Home computer: A photograph of a brilliant blue ocean wave, taken from the side so the perfect curl, curves and foam of the breaking wave are captured.
6. Background on your cell phone? The cover of Jhonen Vasquez’s “Filler Bunny in My Worst Book Yet!” I love that little bunny! I love Jhonen! (Poor, poor Filler Bunny.)
7. Jewelry worn daily? Silver Mani bracelet, white gold wedding ring, silver art nouveau flower engagement ring, two silver hoop earrings, one silver ear stud, pair of silver and black opal earrings.
8. Where your default icon was taken? The original Junko Mizuno piece that it is cropped from was published in “Hell Babies”.

WHAT ARE YOU:
12. Doing this weekend? Cleaning house! Enjoying some beautiful September daze, probably drinking too much, hopefully making some progress on my massive “To Do” list and spending some time being creative. We will most likely go out to brunch somewhere too, after sleeping in and doing the Saturday morning snuggle-ups.
13. Wearing: Vintage 1970s polyester, knee-length dress of cobalt and turquoise blue daisies on a black background, worn over a ankle length black skirt with sheer black socks and clunky heeled shoes.
14. Wanting? The day to be over. It’s been one of those weeks. Generally speaking, my wants are passing fancies and hopeful daydreams. I will want a sparkly thing I saw in a shop. I will want a new comic book or art book. I will want to go out to dinner someplace different and fancy. I want to visit Istanbul. I want to go back to Europe. 20. Besides your bed, what is your favorite thing? Hmmmmm … I don’t have any favorite physical objects right now. Good food and seasonal flowers are favorites while I’m experiencing them. I will occasionally become enamored of an object and carry it like a talisman (glass marbles, shells, ocean rocks), but I haven’t done that in awhile.

29. What did you do last weekend? Slept in, snuggled with boy and kitty, made a beaded dragonfly, ate delicious fresh blueberries and raspberries, watched thousands of swifts whirl in a mating vortex and disappear down a school chimney, shopped for new bras, cleaned the kitchen and helped the boy do the laundry.
