A/N- I wanted to do a River/ Grandparent Ponds story, but it grew way out of proportion and will have to be split up in so many different parts. So, here's part one of these types of stories- the Ponds find out. As always, reviews highly appreciated. Enjoy!

"So Amelia, I take it you two weren't really in Thailand all that time, were you?" asked ( Read more... )

Yeah! I'm glad. Hopefully the other chapters will be up relatively soon, although not guaranteed in sequential order (I have a few more pieces about various Pond interactions that may be completed first).

No problem :). I have a bunch of WIP's (most of them multi-chapter), DW-related and not, filed away on my hard drive, and a few of them, I haven't touched in a very long while :P, so I understand your predicament 8].

Normally, when a storyline ends I can turn it over in my head, enjoy it, and put it away. This story, of how Amy lost her baby girl, this one has not been easily put away. It's nice to see words talking about the physical ache, because I know that's how it must be, from somebody else.

I know! I hated that it was so little addressed in the show, and only mentioned so sparingly in Series 7! I don't care who you are or how the situation gets "fixed"- whether you gave up your baby for adoption or had him or her tragically taken from you in one way or another, it hurts more than a few minutes of tears and acceptance- and affects those around you as well. And I think Amy needed to have the chance to hurt with her parents and her parents to hurt with her as well, before they simply burden River with their pain over which she had no control.

Yep, not explored nearly enough. But I did like that they sort of mentioned it again in the wedding of River Song, but really after it happened that was like the only time I remember it really being mentioned. Then of course they couldn't have kids, but that was a separate issue.

I know! And River was only mentioned onscreen once after that, and only very briefly (besides the episodes she was actually a part of). That drove me up the wall!

this was so emotionally fraught and full of sadness, but it was beautiful and lovely and just.... ugh I'm running out of words to describe your brilliantness.

Wow. I'm afraid I'm going to break your head canon soon, with all the stories you're shoving in there and making room for! Thank you! The subject itself is emotional and sad, so I'm sorry about that- but I am glad you thought I wrote it well... Also love the making of new words to continue with the reviews- that's lovely :D.
