I’m so glad you’ve written about that line of Mycroft’s in particular. It’s such a tantalizing statement, and I think you’ve really deconstructed it well here.

Mycroft can read people like very dull, overrated books, but he cannot read Sherlock.

This line-and this whole story, really-are such great insights into Mycroft’s relationship with Sherlock. Especially as Mycroft in canon admitted twice to John that he doesn’t know why his brother does things or when Sherlock will have a danger night. And that’s quite an admission of weakness for Mycroft to make!

I also love how you’ve described Sherlock as both the sun and the moon here. Very lovely and appropriate.
