I took this at Hakone Gardens in Saratoga, CA. I think it might be a bauhinia, but please comment if you know better.

aww thanks! i never use lj anymore, but the contest said you had to post it to a webpage, and flickr wasn't cooperating with the judge.

it *is* my iphone wallpaper and it's in a iphone wallpaper flickr group :P

It looks like a magnolia to me too... In any case, I wish I had one in my yard. I enjoy seeing them around the area.
