That is not true. Today I was watching Texas Justice with my housemates while skipping work, and there were these two ladies (Angyla Tubbs and Maryanne... something) and Maryanne told Angyla she could keep all her stuff (almost-new sofas, coffee table, trunks full of memorabilia, her bed, etc) in her garage while she looked for a new place. And then Maryanne SOLD ALL OF ANGYLA'S STUFF AT A GARAGE SALE FOR like $20.
THAT is the worst friend ever. Or maybe one who steals a fiance, or murders your mom. Or steals your baby. I think you're still a few steps shy from any of those designations.
