Unlike Stark, Thor goes straight to the patch of forest so easily seen by air ( ... )

Damn it. That's fast. No hello, no fist bump. No asking about how the flight over happened to be. Tony actually appreciates it. This is a good old fashioned brawl, the sort he images boys in frat houses have. He'd never been in a frat. He'd never had friends in college at all because he was so much younger than everyone. The only acquaintances he had were those interested in his brains or his birth right at Stark Industries.

Dodging the hammer is not easy. Tony still grins behind Jarvis' display. "All right, we're not holding back, focus flares."

He takes off into the sky, a jump not a flight, and after sending his flares towards Thor, he spirals down to follow.

Why pretend to make this something more civil than it is? Thor understands physical violence, he grew up the strongest of the All Father's children because Asgard needed the strongest to follow in Odin's footsteps. Asgard understands and respects strength.

Stark respects nothing, apparently, so why waste a warrior's respect on him? But if the man understands strength then let him have it.

Thor dodges the first flare; Mjolnir's leather-wrapped handle slaps against his palm in time for him to swing it up and deflect the second and he launches himself upward without pause. He will meet Stark in the sky, his hammer on the upswing.

So close! His toe is mere inches from Thor's chin when that damned hammer connects with his chest and he falls backwards out of the sky. The ground beneath him erupts in a spray of silt and rocks and for a moment, Tony just stares up at the sky as Jarvis' display flickers twice and then holds steady.

"Ouch."

"Try not to take any more direct hits, sir," the AI says helpfully.

Tony wishes he programmed in a neck to throttle once in while. "Thanks for that." He leaps to his feet with the help of thrusters and straightens up, suit and eyes both looking to get a lock in on the god as the clouds start to gather over head. "Shit."

"My thoughts, exactly, sir."
