Pre- NYC (re-done post... pictures WILL be seen)

Yes, I did just get back from New York (and yes, it was AMAZING), but we're gonna pretend that I posted this right before New York. Monday May 23rd to be precise.

So... for those of you who know Natalie Manzarpour, she believes that she is always the organizer of things and no one ever plans anything for her, and she believes that it is quite difficult to surprise her. Now, for those of you who know me.. you know i love competition and challenge. So I took her on... in a mission to surprise her for *our* aka. her.. birthday. (we have the same birthday btw, May 29th. This Sunday).. So... everbody interested in seeing how the challenge panned out? Well... here it is.

First I decorated my room with streamers and balloons.

And this is the cake i got made. Oreo Ice Cream... with a picture of us from kinark on it.

And this is my beautifully wrapped gift (the sleeper set sail forward CD, and a collage of pictures)

Now, all that was left.... was Natalie.
The plan was for her to come to my house, my mom to drive us to Lonestar for dinner (as another surprise) and then bring her back to that crazy room, give her the gift and then surprise her with the cake.

HOWEVER, this did not happen.
Natalie came a little later than expected so my family left for dinner and we had to cab it to lonestar. But first, she came over and I told her to come into my room, and right when she opened the door and saw the streamers and balloons she closed the door and said "oh my god Courtney!"... i told her to come back... and then she opened her present and we had a balloon popping party (there are no pictures cuz im a dumbass and the camera was downstairs). Then we called for a cab.

This is Natalie as a Dinosaur... waiting for the cab.

waiting for the cab... i realllyyyy love this picture.

(a police car drove to onto my street, and with my bad vision i thought it was the cab... but then the ACTUAL cab came )

In the cab!

Ok so, I didn't want Natalie to know we were going to lonestar so I told her to plug her ears and hum while i told the cab driver where to go. After I told him, I let Nat unplug her ears and the first thing the driver says is "So, you're going to lonestar?"

way to ruin the surprise buddy.

Alright, so there's a tradition at Lonestar for when its someone's birthday. They approach the person (accompanied by a large foam cowboy hat and a triangle, the instrument). They make the person stand on the chair or booth where they are sitting make them put on the hat, the ring the triangle and announce loudly to whole restaurant who and how old the person is turning. and then they sing.

We've always said that cowboy hats were the one hat that Nat looked good in.

However, she was not amused when it messed up her hair.

When we got home from Lonestar I told my mom to light the candles and what not cuz i figured we wouldnt be long changing and whta not... and then she came upstairs pulled me out of my room and said "the candles are melting andthe picture of the 2 of you is starting to rise" (it was funny to see)... so i told Nat to meet me downstairs, and she still didn't come so i yelled at her to come down. So she came downstairs and as she was walking down the stairs I quickly thought of how i should cover her eyes... so i held out my arms for a hug and then she jumped on me and I covered her eyes and dragged her into my dining room and  sat her down right in front of the cake. I wonder what was going on through her mind...

she seemed happy enough :-)

make a wish Natty!

And then we ate cake, semi-watched meet the fockers, and then passed out only to wake up at 5 and make our way to Timmy Ho's and then to NEW YORK!!! (see New York post for pictures)
