Harry Potter & the Birthday Block KAL/CAL Block #2
Hello StarKnuts patrons!!! Here's our next installment of Harry's Birthday Blocks.
Here's the next crocheted block. It's called Solid Stripe. Here's how I changed colors but you can change colors whenever you want. It will be interesting to see what y'all come up with.
Gryffindor Slytherin
Rnd 1 - Scarlet Rnd 1 - Green
Rnd 4 - Gold Rnd 4 - Silver
Rnd 5 - Scarlet Rnd 5 - Green
Rnd 8 - Gold Rnd 8 - SIlver
Rnd 9 - Scarlet Rnd 9 - Green
Ravenclaw Hufflepuff
Rnd 1 - Blue Rnd 1 - Black
Rnd 4 - Bronze Rnd 4 - Yellow
Rnd 5 - Blue Rnd 5 - Black
Rnd 8 - Bronze Rnd 8 - Yellow
Rnd 9 - Blue Rnd 9 - Black
The knitted block is my own creation. It reminds me of the Quidditch pitch.
For the knitted block, I did a seeded check pattern. I wasn't quite sure how to do a 12" with 2 colors so I decided to make 4 - 6" blocks. Here's the 6" seeded check pattern.
US 8 (5.0 mm)
Cast on 25 stitches
Row 1 ~ * K5 (P1, K1) twice, P1, rep from *, K5
Row 2 ~ * P5 *(P1, K1) twice, P1, rep from *, P5
Row 3 ~ repeat Row 1
Row 4 ~ repeat Row 2
Row 5 ~ repeat Row 1
Row 6 ~ repeat Row 2
Row 7 ~ *(K1, P1) twice, K1, P5, rep from *, (K1, P1) twice, K1
Row 8 ~ *(K1, P1) twice, K6, rep from *, (K1, P1) twice, K1
Row 9 ~ repeat Row 7
Row 10 ~ repeat Row 8
Row 11 ~ repeat Row 7
Row 12 ~ repeat Row 8
Repeat these 12 rows 2 more times. Bind off.
Make 2 of each color for a total of four. Arrange as shown in pic & join using your favorite method.
