I'm startled at McCain's VP pick, not because it's Oh So Shocking that he'd go with a woman but that he'd pick this one.

Yeah, I think that choosing her was really unstrategic. Sure, she wins a news cycle, but that's because everyone's standing around, scratching their heads and saying, "Huh?"

Also, I've been meaning to congratulate you on your news. Haven't been checking in to LJ as much lately and have mostly been on my iPhone when I do (thus discouraging commenting due to the inconvenience factor), but I am excited for you.
