I served my time in the Navy, but I discourage kids from joining the military today. If you missed the Opus comic on May 27, go back and find it. It's absolutely beautiful, without one word written.

I would discourage it too, mainly due to the abuse of the uniformed forces perpetrated by our overlords - thus my commentary about trying to stop us from becoming what they once sacrificed to stop. I don't mean that we're anywhere near as bad as Nazi Germany, though I know some who lack as much historical perspective as they claim who would say otherwise, but we're definitely closer to the totalitarian and oppressive than we've been in a long time, and closer than we should have ever allowed ourselves to become. If that is supposed to be a counterpoint then you have completely misunderstood my post.

OTOH, if it is supposed to be in sympathy, then you have not. It's a very poignant drawing.

No counterpoint. No sympathy. Just Opus sitting in quite resignation before a field of dead dandelions about to be blown by the wind and forever forgotten while symbols of American ideals hang dejectedly, also forgotten, from a lone tree.
