Grudges

It's still cold here. It's still dark. But both come from lack or trying to rectify the situation on my part. I have a glass of good port, and a stack of unread books waiting for me. Revenge is often a cause that a being holds onto, to give them a sense of purpose. Imagine the Ronin, who travelled ceaselessly to undo those that dishonored them, and often, travelled alone in self torture for having dishonored themselves.

In many ways, revenge sometimes gives meaning to a torment, that without it, would be completely pointless and without any meaningful outcome at all.

Sometimes. Revenges and grudges, on the deepest level, are nothing more than an excuse to believe that cruelty had some reason.....and wasn't just for cruelty's sake....

It's only one aspect, but it's a two cents worth spending. :)
