I am going to start by saying thank you...and you know who you are. I find it comforting to know people are glad I am back, or have been wondering where I have gone, even if I don't really know you. So again, thank you ( Read more... )

;-)

In my honest opinion, I think you are wise to cut your loses and move on, no matter how hard it might be. It doesn't sound like he wants anything more than friendship. If he did the distance wouldn't be a problem, he wouldn't be vague with his feelings (especially since he knows how you feel), and the fact that he doesn't hunt you down says something as well. Sometimes guys string girls along with vague answers. It's the whole, "Well I don't like her like that, but..." It could be that he just likes the company. Maybe he likes the idea of being in a relationship even if he doesn't really want one with anyone in particular.

I think you are right. I think that we meet the people we do for specific reasons. Sometimes they may be nothing more than learning experiences. Maybe this guy was put in your path to show you that not everyone is who they are cracked up to be, or whatever. Who knows. All you can really do is learn from this experience and move on. There will be other guys. Just don't lose hope.
