For as long as I can remember, my father has had a habit of getting very angry in heated situations and yelling and then, generally no more than an hour later, having calmed down, being super apologetic and regretful of his actions (as far as I can tell). It's very easy to pick up habits from parents that were actually there when you're growing up. I'm pretty sure that a majority of the population will understand the whole parental habit thing. You tell yourself that you'll never be like that. Of course, some actually do pull it off with enough willpower and awareness of the situation (catching yourself before you follow through). Most of the time though, it's probably what your brain has processed as the way things are supposed to happen, as it's one of the first methods you experienced. As habitual creatures, this loop of actions spurred by whatever stimuli from your environment is really tough to shake ( ... )
