I wouldn't say it's a bad thing that you understand it. Understanding is something we do as intelligent beings. You don't have to live something to understand it (I know a lot of people who have lived entire wars and still don't understand them for instance).
Don't regret that you understand something about your life if you believe it applies to it. Rather be strong as you have accomplished a monumental thing: you understand a part of yourself. So many people go day-in-day-out like robots, not even understanding anything about themselves, their wants, their needs, their thoughts, their desires. To be able to understand yourself is a very difficult thing that most people will probably never understand. Be proud.
And more importantly you've got the hard part done now. The easy part is DOING something about it. It's impossible to change if you don't know what it is that has to change and you set yourself up for failure. However, if you DO know what has to change then you can only succeed. Trust me. ;)
*Smiles.* As much as I hate to disagree with a friend who cares, doing something about my feelings is a ridiculously hard task. To risk sounding like some ridiculous, cliche (yet aren't we all subject to the same emotions? Why must we deride them so?) fool, I just can't tell you about my problems
