Does anyone know how I can set up LJ to send me notifications whenever anyone posts? I already have it set so that I receive notices when certain people post, and I found where I can choose to no longer receive notifications about those posts... but I can't find a way to add more people to that list. Any help??

Edit: got it figured out. If anyone ( Read more... )

There's no mass addition tool, which makes no sense due to being able to dump loads of users simultaneously. You'll just have to add each user individually.

LJ wins the award for ease of use once again!

That's okay, I didn't really want a mass addition tool. I could find the list of friends I was already tracking; I just couldn't figure out how to add users to that list. Thank you, though -- between yours and Stephan's replies, it motivated me to start clicking and looking around. Got it now. :D

You mean updates to your own posts, or to someone elses?
I always get notifications when someone replies to my posts. I didn't know you could switch it off.

No, I don't think you can turn that off. Wait, maybe you can -- in the account settings, I think. But no, that's not what I mean.

I currently have it set so that, for example, if you create a post on your journal, I get an e-mail letting me know. But it's only set up for certain people on my friends list, and I'm trying to set it up for all of my friends, so that I don't miss important things (like how I missed the fact that you had to have surgery and were out of commission for awhile).

Since I'm spending most of my time on Facebook, I only come over here to check on my friends postings, and when I want to talk about something too personal for Facebook. Without some kind of notice, posts tend to fall through the cracks, and I miss way too much.

Ack -- I just figured it out. :)

If anyone else wanted to know the same thing, it's simple (and I prob'ly would've gotten it sooner if I'd grasped what Kat was saying, above): go to the user profile of the friend you want to 'track'. On the right side of the page are options, one of which is "Track User". From there, it gives options for receiving notifications when that user posts entries, has an upcoming birthday, etc.

I feel kinda dumb now, but thanks for your comment -- it's what led me to start clicking and looking for the solution. ;)

Ah! That would be useful. I'll have to have a look to see how to set that. With your comments in the uhm comment below it should be easy to find.

The hospital visit wasn't that important. :) Just a status update. I'm (almost) all better now. Just some muscle-achy feeling now and then. The important ones are when I post videos of Maya. ;)
