I actually share most of your same problems with the church. Although there has been proof that the Bible we know today is almost entirely accurate to the scrolls found (such as the Dead Sea Scrolls I think...) It was originally "inspired" by God, not written by him himself. MAN wrote down the words of God, and as we all know very well, man is fallible. The men who wrote the words lived by different societal codes, and those codes made women property of their husbands, much like almost all of the codes in the new testament. As much as God stresses the equality of all his children in his eyes, Man of the Bible certainly doesn't stress that as all. Women are as good as the cow fattening for Christmas to those people. Who's to say that the other codes are just as swayed by the societal codes of the period in which it is written? I believe there is a God, and I believe he wants us to love each other and not succumb to the demons of evil, but some things just don't make as much sense. God loves ALL his children, yet he does not ( ... )

The problem is that God did not make them gay. They have chosen to be gay, which according to the bible is a sin, just like any other you can think of. *Read Romans 1:26-32* But hey, I'm not perfect. I'm a sinner too, no better than anyone, but that's why Christ came and died for us... to free us from sin and save us from the punishment we deserve. Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." God's gift is offered to anyone. To receive it you must, "confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" Romans 10:9. This is what I believe and this is what the bible teaches. There is a great book called "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. Strobel was a non-christian doing an investigation of the evidence for Jesus. He asked questions like, "Can the biographies of Jesus be trusted?" Well, it's an awesome book, and if you'd like to read it I could lend it to you ( ... )

yes and frankly the bible just doesn't hold a lot of esteem with me these days, but nice try sharon.

i will continue to believe what i believe is right. i don't want to be swayed and i refuse to let myself conform to the mass majority.

again, nice try. ttyl
