-getting paid to write a 6000 word ebook about, of all silly things, Anthony Bourdain's The Nasty Bits-going out with my (former?) coworkers last night

Vermont sounds slightly malevolent when you put it that way.
I would never wish abject misery upon you, so I hope it passes soon (writing an ebook about Anthony Bourdain's book? Awesome! I've read The Nasty Bits before, so that is the coolest thing ever).
I mean, it cuts both ways? On the one hand, I run into people that I haven't seen for years. On the other hand, I run into people that I haven't seen for years. I once went to a crap Chinese restaurant in Montpelier, and ran into three different people that I'd known in high school.
Hugs and hugs and hugs and hugs. I came veryclose to kidnapping you this weekend and making you come with me, but decided that a)it would probably alter the dynamic and put everyone into polite 'are you having a good time is there anything i can do for you oh by the way tell us everything about your life' mode and b)it would mean subjecting you to my family, who i love but who are special, in that, um, "i wondered why my chicken tasted so strange" sort of way. (Because it was tofu.) It was probably the right call, but i kind of wish i'd done it anyway, for both our sakes.
