My vacation is over.  I spent it moving to Lawrenceville.

Day 1:  Poison, sulfur-water, lying on the floor crying

On the first day I paid two guys to move my heaviest stuff in their truck.  When they were done I moved more by myself.  I ran up and down stairs for 18 hours carrying boxes.

It's been true for a while that Lawrenceville is Pittsburgh's most up-and-coming neighborhood, but I sort of have to ask: does this make you a gentrificator? Has anyone, after seeing you refuse to live surrounded by roaches and garbage, referred to you as "your highness" or described you as "high-falutin'" or "having put on airs"?

The lady in curlers eating cereal and reading Vogue is a gentrifier too. This street is crawling with gentrifiers. It's been gentrifying for twenty years, and cockroaches are still falling from the ceiling onto the kitchen tables of the highfalutin'. It's perfect for people who feel guilty about being bourgeois. I love it.
