Tidbits about the Typewriter

Not unrelated to my last posting, I have started to do some research into what was being written about the typewriter and it's impact, or potential impact, on writing, the written text and education between about 1880 and 1950. By the way, Kittler is unreliable:

At least, he exaggerates about Nietzsche, which throws some doubt on his account generally.

"he" meaning Kittler or Warburton? I'm assuming Kittler. Yes, he is, virtually, unreadable. I have returned to his section on the Typewriter, though I will be reading it closer in the near future. Most of his citations about Nietzsche's use of the typewriter come from N.'s letters - about what is Kittler exaggerating? About the way he used the typewriter or how much he used it or is Kittler going too far in his interpretation? I read the Warburton but was not struck by much that I read there, though people commenting on both of his Nietzsche & the Typewriter postings mention either the Kittler directly or photographs/images that are also in the Kittler ( ... )

Funny thing - I read "unreliable" as "unreadable" which is something I CAN vouch for in terms of Kittler's book.
