Just ten more things for now.  I'll have to save the stories for another time.

Have you ever:

11. Spent nearly a month on the jury of a sensational murder trial involving an insanity defense?

12. Heard a bullet whizzing past you at supersonic speed, followed 2 seconds later by the ( Read more... )

I was a bit vague about 15 - meaning soldering parts onto blank PC boards...
Travel items 13 and 19 seemed likely to be matched by someone, though perhaps not by the people I know. Do I know you?

Thanks. The Pink Floyd thing was pretty damn cool. They said I could watch the show from anywhere the crew could go, and I chose the board because there were a lot of effects in the house I wanted to see, plus, y'know, primo sound.
Oh, and I got an extra paid day off work to do it!

Yes. Hartford Civic Center, Oct. 14, 1987. Were you there?
I was a fan (more of their earlier work), but I was still at least as interested in the effects setup as I was in the music. I got to see close-up the custom-built beam projectors that came out of the stage like robot heads, scanning the audience. That, in addition to the usual lasers, moving lights and the - uh, smoking bed that zipped down a cable over the audience, presented quite a spectacle.
I recall the drive down being really nice, too - peak foliage on a sunny day, no hurry. And it was a short drive back to my girlfriend's house in Northampton afterward.
That was really a sweet pleasant day.
