Also, when Sam and Dean visit the Old West later this season, they’ll meet, ironically, an Easterner: Samuel Colt, a middle-aged hunter who’s tarnished his own legend by becoming more interested in pouring his next drink than firing his next shot. You reckon he’ll be able to help them dispatch Elias Finch, the innocent specter out for vengeance after being hung?

By the way, a little rant about names here, feel free to scroll past: what is SPN's allergy to using angelic names? We have Castiel and Uriel, and the archangels by necessity need angelic names, but otherwise we have an Anna, a Zachariah, a Joshua, a Balthazar, and now a Rachel. Don't get me wrong, I like those names -- in fact, Rachel is one of my favorite girls' names -- but...do they really sound like angels? Now, Anna makes sense, since that was the name her human parents gave her (and my fanon is that her angelic name is Anael, explaining why angels like Cas, Uriel, and Michael persist in calling her Anna even after her true nature comes to light). Zachariah sounds close enough to Zacharael that I just shrug and move on. Joshua made me raise my eyebrow, though I like the theory that some fan had that he wasn't an angel at all, but rather another famous denizen of heaven with a name that starts with J. By the time you get to Balthazar, though, I'm just throwing my hands in the air going, "Come on, Show, do a Google search!"
You know what would be a great name for an angel with a "finely-tuned BS detector"? Kabniel. I'm just saying.
Okay, name rant out of the way...I'm very excited about this. Very, very excited. I still haven't forgiven the show for killing off (Anna, Jo, Ellen, Ruby, Ava, Bela) or putting on a bus (Lisa, Becky) so many of the female characters that I like. This might just be the thing I need to pull my attention to S6 again (I gave up about three episodes in). My biggest hope is that they don't make her anyone's love interest for two reasons: 1.) it would be nice to have a young female character not automatically be someone's romantic partner and 2.) you know, you just know, that having her be a love interest is the fastest way to make a large portion of fandom hate her. YOU JUST KNOW IT. I don't want to have another young female character be hated by the majority of fandom.
Another thing that would be nice? Having Rachel be a PoC, especially since our other angels of color have been Raphael (evil) and Uriel (evil and dead...man, I miss Uriel).
So, yeah...I'm looking forward to this with cautious hope. :D
