A Few More Reasons I Love The Invention of the CDR

One of my favorite and truly most geeky music-related things to do is to create my own "best ofs" or "anthologies" or "hits" collections. The digital age and the CDR have made this incredibly easy. I began doing this right around the height of Napster, right at the same time I bought my first PC that had a CD burner ( Read more... )

No. I love that so many of my friends -- both online and locally -- seem to always mesh with my kids' tastes. The handful of LJ friends who have met/interacted with my kids in person get on with them really well. :)

*gasp* You didnt have Jack Johnson?! Sorry I was totally with you till I saw that & was sad you were missing out. Ha!

Anyways, I'm with you...I'd rather had 10 quality tracks on a cd then a fillers.

Jack Johnson has never really inspired me to buy one of his albums. When I hear a single on the radio I like it or if a friend is playing it then I like it. And I did really love his work on the Curious George movie (Kason will love this movie someday!) but mostly he strikes me as a "future really great greatest hits" type of artist. Sorta like Jason Mraz or, to get old school, Jimmy Bufffett. Buffett sounds great on a "hits" set but I'd never buy a new album of new songs.

Kid A and I like Muse a lot. Have fun with that one and let me know if you need any help. ;)

Most of my Jack Johnson stuff won't survive my next round of cd cuts. If you still want them whenever that happens to be, they're yours for the low, low price of an airline ticket. I should probably hand deliver them. Wouldn't want anything to happen to them in the mail...

Ummm... you can leave them at home but still come visit. But you'd have to pay for your air fare. :)
