The Best CDs of 2011

Dec 20, 2011 09:46

I have in fact decided to write up a little something for 2011's music but I'm not going to do my usual format, where I've written pretty at length on each album and included pictures of album covers, etc. Instead I am expanding the list to 25 albums but writing less about each. More is less, less is more, and so on ( Read more... )

Adele makes me want to barf. I can't even stand the Skrillex remake. But she did own 2011. fdjksfk sdfjkdfkadkf. I'm sure there'll be a 23 very soon...

Good list overall!

Thanks. I think you'd like the Cold War Kids album, maybe the Butch Walker one too. Oh, and your JJ loving self should really hear the Eddie Vedder one. :)

I enjoyed reading your list. As always. I liked the new format as well. Short, sweet reviews and enough triggers in some of them to make me think, "I need to check out that band/CD."

Since you've done a list I'll plan on doing one as well. I may also follow your lead and do a shorter entry but we'll see what ends up on virtual paper when I actually sit down to write it.

Though this may have been a chore, know that this reader/friend appreciated the effort it took to write and pull together. Nicely done.

almost Dexy Midnight Runner's vibe of "Synthesizers"

Neglected to add a big hell yeah! to the above comment. I thought the same thing when I first heard the song. It's turned out to be one of my favorite overall songs on the new BW release.

Butch is going through a Midas Touch phase with his own work. Even when he keeps it loose, like on the new album, it all just WORKS.

Heard Head and the Heart open for Arcade Fire. Really enjoy their music. I like the Civil Wars, but they are hard to sing to, and I have this need to be able to sing along. :) That is why I don't like Modest Mouse.. lol. Will look some of these albums up. Thanks for sharing.

I saw Civil Wars live and they were so good. Missed Head and the Heart when they came through but I imagine their live show would be solid.
