Friends: is it harder to go through a break up OR is it harder to be with the person you love, but be many, many miles apart...

Let's see, considering I've done both, I'd say it's harder going through a breakup. The breakup doesn't teach much but the obvious heartache and that you made a mistake in choosing to date the person, not to mention you might never know when the next time you'll find someone again will be. Despite the long distance, you're still with someone. That should spell out the level of commitment you both have - your distances away but still love each other. Very rarely does anyone get to know this, and there is no doubting if it'll work - it either doesn't work or it does and will continue to do so. While it can tear you apart that you don't physically have that person with you, they ARE with you in spirit and are most likely sharing the same pain you're going though. That pain though, is the small price you pay for the explosion of happiness that will engulf you both when you meet again!
