Oh man, how can these concerts be so good? Last night was Shadows Fall, The Haunted, and Damageplan.
We got there right as the Haunted took the stage so me and Tim headed down to the floor so I could watch him take pics. Floor was nice and fairly empty so that’s were I ended up all night. Much better in concert than they were on CD. And it turns out that it was the brother guitarists birthday so we all sang happy birthday and they threw cake into the crow. I hope they come back soon, they were fun. Then after their set Tim, Kris, and I all headed up to the merch, where I got another Shads shirt. Then hanging around their who comes up but Jay. So I got to go off with him and we went to where I just was on the floor by the entrance to the photo pit. All of a sudden Brian Fair walks by, and I was like Jay..it’s Brian Fair. So he was like lets go follow him and tell him he’s awesome. So after so running and looking we found him and Jay taps him, he turns around, and Jay points to me and goes she loves you. Brian was just like awe and gave me a hug.
Then after we went back down and waited for Damageplan. They were ok, in the end when they played ‘walk’ by Pantera, I saw the most violent throwout ever. There was fighting against the bouncers, and a girl was screaming and got punched in the face. So huge. And they had this guy named best dude give people beer and they threw beer and drumsticks and picks out into the crowd, nice of them to do that. And Dime had a freaking huge solo, but it was cool and didn’t bore you like some solos.
Then they were over, so we met Tim because that’s what I have to do. Found out I couldn’t take the Shadows Fall pics that night, but when I get my camera Kris will get herself a pass and just give it to me so that both me and Tim can take pics. Then Shadows Fall came on and opened with The Light That Binds. Then they played Crushing Belial, The Idiot Box, The Power of I and I, Thoughts Without Words, Enlightened By The Cold. Then I hear a little prelude, and I’m like…can it be? YES! They were playing A Fire In Babylon! So good. Then they played Act of Contrition, Of One Blood, What Drives the Weak, and ended with Destroyer of Senses. Then came out for an encore with Fleshold. We also got 4 mini silent movies of them playing. So once fleshold was done we ran out of that great concert.
