I went to Champions on Ice today. It was fabulous and wonderful - the best thing ever! Lots of skaters were there, most of who I can't pronounce/remember their names. But, Sasha Cohen and Michelle Kwan performed. So did Johnny Weir (last name??). And two pairs from the Detroit Skating Club that competed in the Olympics. Amazing how they make ( Read more... )

Yesterday was a good day. My skates came, I went to get them heat molded. The lady there was really nice. We had lunch out. Did a few things. Dinner at Pizza Hut with some friends, then bowling...I so won! My high score ever (don't laugh!!) of 155! I beat everyone I played with...I was pretty proud of myself! So, I went to a MiAEYC conference this weekend in Grand Rapids. I was kind of disappointed - I went to three sessions, and I didn't have a wow moment in any of them. I've been missing ice skating. I quit doing it on a team a long time ago, and I wish I wouldn't have. So I've been thinking about getting myself some new skates. I hate the ones I rent, and it's a waste of money. Well, I went skiing today. I'm very proud to say that I'm not in the hospital with any injuries. Actually, I think I did really well for my first time out there. Everyone else (Matt and his mom and brother) thought I did great also. I fell twice - both times on the flat part at the bottom of the hills, go figure.
