lol! I really wish I could be more concise. I always have to spend a ton of time editing and rewriting and cutting things out. =P *sighs* I guess I'll have to keep working at it... ;)

ok let's try this little exercise on brevity.

you need to order a packet of chicken rice, to go. how would you say it to a singapore or hk food seller in english?

With formalities: "May I order a packet of chicken rice to go?"
Without formalities: "One packet of chicken rice... to go?"
Shorter: "Chicken rice to go?"

(I think I'm hopeless. =P The first thing I thought when I read the question was, "Wait, am I supposed to ask with or without formalities?")
