Anne practices constantly when it comes to her dancing. Madame Soleil pushes her hard, making her repeat steps and moves over and over until she feels that they’re right. There’s a lot of discipline in being a dancer, but Anne works hard at it and she doesn’t mind. Over time, her feet have grown used to the ache. But after a particularly hard session, she’s left with tired and aching feet.
When Cassie doesn’t teach, she busks. On any street corner or in a particular area of Grant Park is where she’ll usually be found, strumming along on her guitar and singing. Sometimes, if the public’s feeling generous, she’ll make a good amount. Other times, like today, she’s out for hours until she can make something. She doesn’t mind being out, she likes playing and performing. But the constant standing doesn’t do much good to her feet.
On this one particular afternoon, they met up.
“My feet are killin’…” Cassie muttered, “Rough crowd today,”
“I would’ve given you something!” Anne told her brightly, “But I was inside dancing all day,”
Cassie smiled at her, “That’s really kind of you. But anyway, how’d the dancing go?”
“Madame Soleil was really pushing today, but it went good! But yeah, I hear you, achy feet here too,”
Cassie scrunched her nose up in disapproval and they both laughed as they walked along the streets of the city. After a few moments, her face lit up with an idea. “What’re you doing later?” she asked.
“Math homework,” Anne replied with a small wince, still smiling. “Why?”
“Well, I reckon, because of our poor, poor achy feet, how about a little pampering round Kashtta in one of the common rooms?” she suggested, “We could also get icecream, facepacks and of course, Disney movies. Bring your homework and we could get that done first!”
“I think that’s a wonderful idea!” Anne said with a bright smile because raising an eyebrow, “Although isn’t it cheating to ask a teacher for help?”
“Shhhh. I’m totally not a teacher, alright?”

Only a short while later, the two girls had taken over one of the common rooms. With The Aristocats playing in the background, Anne sat on a sofa with her face covered in blue paste, her pen pressed to her lips as she pondered the next question. Cassie sat at her feet, eating ice cream with one hand and painting Anne’s toes with the other.
“Your feet look really sore,” she mused aloud with a frown, “Dancing looks like it hurts,”
“Oh, it’s not that bad,” Anne replied with a small smile, “It’s hard work, but it’s always worth it,”
“Very, very true. We suffer for our arts, I suppose,”
“That’s the way,” Anne nodded, eyes turning back to her homework. Humming through the beginning of ‘Everybody Wants To Be A Cat’, she spoke up again when she found herself stuck on another question. “Okay, I got another one. The question is if-“
She was cut off. Instead she let out a squeal.
“Ahhh! Cold!”
Cassie had accidentally dropped a spoonful of ice cream on her friend’s foot.
“Oops… sorry!”
