so not only did i get to listen to a wonderful talk by photographer lauren greenfield tonight, but i got to speak with her briefly afterward, have her personalize/sign her book thin for me, AND in telling her about myself and my work she recommended that i apply for her 3 month internship in california. she even asked my last name and said to ( Read more... )

Yay! Congrats!! Good luck if you apply for the internship. Would it be over the summer?

thanks! we'll see what happens. they run it every 3 months but while i'm in school i would only be able to do it during a summer slot, which is the most popular one to apply for for obvious reasons. we'll see :)

Hi, I am Polly from the film. I read your post about getting to meet Lauren. She is amazing to work with. You really ought to take her seriously and apply for her internship. She's tough and takes her work very seriously, but she is also very down to earth and great to be around. Good Luck!

i'm not sure if you will check back to read this, but i'm amazed and intrigued that you were able to find my livejournal. i'd love to know how you managed to stumble upon it!

anyway, i just found the thin myspace account so i guess i'll try to write to you there in case you dont check up here. i really do plan to apply for the internship, but since i'm still in grad school, i can only apply to do it in the summertime (i'm thinking next year) and she mentioned that that period of time is particularly competitive. i figure that it's worth a shot though.

if indeed this is not someone playing a prank on me, and it's really you, i'm really glad you wrote and look forward to talking to you. :)
