o1. Weekend television is always a little different. A little more dorktastic. A little more ~magical~. And here's some picspams of what I've enjoyed in sci-fic/fantasy weekend TV lately:
Dollhouse
Ok, this Topher/Claire picspam is from 2.01 and not 2.02. But I just really enjoyed their scenes (more than anything in 2.02, TBH)
It's not that I ship them per say. I mean, who is she anyway? (That was meant rhetorically)
I just found their scenes so fascinating. I feel like there's so much more to get into here and so much more to this story. Hm.
"Why shouldn't I love you?"
"Because you're better than that! Because you're better than me!"
I'm not sure if they will ever get into this storyline though, given that Amy Acker is sadly nothing more than a guest star on this show. Alas, she's my favorite.
I have the most massive girlcrush on her. I can't even explain why. I haven't even seen her stuff on Angel yet! (Although I'm mid season 2 now so I should be getting there relatively soon I think)
"You're human."
"Don't flatter yourself."
Smallville
I've loved Lois & Clark in every version of this story ever since I was a little girl. And I've seen most versions, because I'm a dork.
I don't know how many of you actually know how vast my knowledge of Superman is, it's embarrassing. lol
It's funny how this show essentially is "Superman" now for all intents and purposes.
I mean, he doesn't have the name (although he does have the symbol), he doesn't have the "costume", and he technically can't fly yet (lol although that seems to be because he's lazy more than anything else). But that's it.
The only reason they can still call this show Smallville now is because technically he still lives at the farm. And that's only because for someone who's faster than a speeding bullet the commute to the city isn't so bad.
♥
I guess in a way they can even get together this season. I always thought they might never "get together" (for more than a brief period of time) on the show because in almost every version of this story that happens AFTER he officially becomes Superman. However since they're already working at The Daily Planet together, and she's already crushing on him as "the blur" and denying her feelings for him IRL...well, it's essentially the same story just without him calling himself Superman.
I love the little smile here
Merlin
It's funny to me that a big Merlin/Morgana storyline started this week.
After last week's episode (and because of the preview for next week) I googled "Gwen/Arthur/Lancelot" to just find out more information about those relationships. And while I was doing that I stumbled upon lots of information about how Merlin helped Morgana with her magic. The more information I found, the more I wanted them to do a story like that on the show.
It would make a lot of sense too considering the fact that they're working on Arthur/Gwen this season.
I don't know if I need them to actually "hook up". I just think a close relationship between them (of any kind) could be really interesting.
But if they did make their relationship romantic, I could definitely be on board with that if it was built up slowly. (I do ship everyone/everyone on this show!)
Bonding over ~secret magic~ could definitely be sexy, y?
I was listening to Bat For Lashes while photoshopping this. It was the most perfect mood music for Merlin/Morgana ever.
Aw, the last look! ♥
I didn't picspam this part, but he even brought her flowers in the beginning! Merlin is the most adorable person in the history of ever, it's almost hilarious.
And then Arthur was jealous since he didn't get any flowers.
lol it's ok Arthur, he'll always love you best.
Can I just say that I wish this show wasn't actually geared toward "children". Imagine if this aired on HBO or something? They might have to get rid of the bad CGI, the slash dragon, and probably most of the writers (lol) but I think I'd rather see an adult version of this show (with the same actors of course). The downfall of Camelot could be some really dramatic stuff.
THEY WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITES THOUGH!
Aw Merlin, tell him that you're magical and that you love him!
o2. And it's Music Monday
♪ Vampire Weekend - Horchata
(This is the first song off of their NEW album! And I kind of love it!)
♪ Tiesto - Knock You Out (ft. Emily Haines of Metric)
(Emily Haines. Do I need to say more?)
♪ William Fitzsimmons - Heartless (Kanye West cover)
(I love how melancholy and beautiful this is. It couldn't be more different from the original)
♪ Nouvelle Vague - All My Colours (Echo & The Bunnymen cover)
(I adore all of Nouvelle's Vauge's covers. And Ian McCulloch from Echo & The Bunnymen is actually featured on this track!)
♪ Mumford and Sons - Little Lion Man
(This band recieved a lot of acclaim when they opened for Laura Marling recently. I really adore all the stuff I have by them)
♪ Pharell - My Drive Thru (ft. Julian Casablancas & Santogold)
(This is such a great song. Julian and Santogold? How awesome is that?)
And as usual Gossip Girl played music on tonight's episode that I've already uploaded for Music Monday months ago. Seriously, I need to steal that woman's job. ha. :p
