I want to apologize for being kind of MIA for the last couple of days. And I'm also sorry this is so late AGAINMy poor laptop is gasping it's last breath as we speak. It's been slowly dying over the past few months, and I had been hoping that maybe it would last to see another Christmas, but alas! Now it has a virus ( Read more... )

CANADIANS REALLY CALL THEM TWOONIES AND LOONIES. That is how we roll~

When the 2$ coin first came out, people would jokingly say, 'What are we gonna call it, the twoonie? LAME SAUCE.' And now we do. lolz.

And lmao, going on adventures, that's the war memorial downtown and is like 10 minutes from me. It's definitely the kind of adventure we have here, though. :p

500 Miles always makes me think of Ted and Marshall and their epic bromance. ♥

LOL THAT IS SO LAMELY AWESOME!

Well, that could be an adventure...of remembrance...or something? No one goes on excursions of any kind on our money.

When they started out on the road trip in this ep I thought, "PLZ PLAY 500 MILES!" and then they did and I was so happy! haha

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TED AND MARSHALL ARE TALKING ABOUT BECAUSE LOOK AT BARNEY STROKING ROBIN'S ARM!

It doesn't take much, you guys.

My thoughts exactly. I keep getting distracted by the absolute pretty and the joy it gives me just to see them like this. Ugh, back in season 2, it was still all wishful thinking and I'd always get excited whenever they're next to each other somehow and now WE GET THIS. Just to see them together brings me so much joy, aaahh.

Anyway, I loved this episode! See how much fun Barney/Robin can be when they're just being their awesome selves, TPTB?? Barney standing up on a chair and basically proclaiming his love for Robin in an AWESOME way gets to me. SIGH. Also, I know it's probably silly, but I loooooved that she called him and he flew straightaway to get her ♥

Ted was SO CUTE when he jumped to "shrimp fried rice". GOD. These people. SO ADORABLE, I can hardly take it. Also, this episode just increased my love for Robin tenfold.

I know! Back then I really thought that Barney/Robin was never going to happen and that it was just a pipe dream. And then in s3 pre-Sandcastles in the Sand I almost thought they were just messing with us. haha.

What was so great about this episode was that finally we just saw them casually hanging out by themselves, as themselves. There was no sorts of weird pressures or anything else going on. I wish we could see more of that.

I love showing Canadian money to Americans. They're always really amused.

I see that memorial all the time! Go Ottawa. (WE ARE THE CAPITAL, SUCK IT TORONTO.)

BONUS: If you fold the 5$ bill a certain way, you can make one of the kids look like the face of a man wearing a turban!

This episode wins because of TIM HORTONS. (WOULD ONLY HAVE BEEN BETTER HAD THERE BEEN TIMBITS PURCHASED.)

I'm sad they didn't even kiss in this episode. :(

I am really jealous of your money. If only we had rainbow colored bills that weren't from Monopoly!

Someone needs to tell Barney about all the Tim Hortons in NYC so he can go there all the time! haha

Confirming what certifieddork said, yes - we do call them loonie and toonies. The $1 bill was changed into a $1 coin and it had a loon and on it, so we called it a loonie. Then the $2 bill changed into $2 coin and we called it the toonie. I would have never noticed Barney stroking Robin's arm. That's what I like about your picspams.

I can't believe that the HIMYM writers haven't used that yet. I feel like Barney would die. When I googled "Canadian money" earlier today and saw that I burst out laughing. It's awesome.
Our money has no cute nicknames, how sad.

pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, and benjamins?

Well, they're strange names anyway...

LOL! No one actually calls $100 bills "benjamins" that's just a slang phrase most commonly used by rappers since Benjamin Franklin is on that bill.
But I wouldn't say that's an actual name for it.

Don't you call coins quarters, nickles, dimes, and pennies also? That's what the Canadian money link says.

IT IS! I love how all the bills are so colorful and fun and different from each other! Our bills are so boring. :(

I wonder if the HIMYM writers know that Tim Hortons is actually all over NYC now, haha Robin can get her fix.
