An old college friend of mine who lives in New Jersey managed to get tickets to see Itzhak Perlman play at the Mayo Peforming Arts Center. Cool - enjoy the concert! I love the violin.

You're right, Oliver should be further along in growth and development. I hope your doctor can help you figure out what's going on, or that you can find a new doctor who can!

I love the violin too. As soon as Oliver goes to daycare, I'm going to go back to lessons. I really miss playing it.

Yeah, I'm going to give the ped. one last chance, if he doesn't agree with me that Oliver should at least be evaluated by an endocrinologist, I'm going to look for a new doctor. Oliver is extremely small, he's the height of a nine month old. If I were short, or my boyfriend were short, I'd chalk it up to genes, but we're not. I'm 5'7' and my boyfriend is 5'10" or so. Surely Oliver should be a little taller than he is.

The height thing is definitely a concern but I wouldn't worry about vocabulary at 18 months, my daughter was barely talking until she was at least 2.
