Claire hadn't been out on a date with anyone really that she could remember. Her life hadn't been exactly normal to do that. She found herself on a date with an attractive older man and she liked that.

Harry's life had always been pretty... interesting. Interesting was a good word for it. Crazy was another.

"Works for me. I've never understood why people put all that extra crap in coffee. It's coffee. Don't mess with a good thing." That, and he's broke, and usually doesn't go into coffee shops that much.

He orders two plain coffees and winces as the computerized cash register blips in the middle of the transaction. "Keep the change," he mutters sheepishly, tossing a bill onto the counter, grabbing the coffees, and picking a corner table, far far away from the expensive equipment.

"So, Claire. Do you... do this sort of thing often?"

She watched not understanding what was going on with him and the cash register. She didn't know what was going on. she just let him do all the talking and followed him.

"Do what? Pick up older guys I don't know and have them take me out on a date? No I must say this is my first time." She said wondering if that's what he meant.

That gets a laugh, and he nods, sipping at his coffee. "Um, yeah, I guess. I'm going to go ahead an apologize ahead of time for the fact that I'm a really horribly awkward guy. And -- lame. So if you can't stand bad jokes, we should probably end this here and now."
