The History of Love.

By Nicole Krauss.

The most wonderful book I've read in a long, long time.

One of the most wonderfully crafted books I've ever read,
with some of the most endearing and well-written characters,
with so many casual observations that just knocked the wind out of me,
they were so simple and real.

You should probably read it.

Oooh, good to know. I've looked over this book several times, and while I've been drawn to it, I've ultimately skipped over it for fear of it being one of those "chick flick" beach reads. I'm glad to know that it has some depth. I'm excited to read it now!

Not at all! I was a bit dubious at first, too, but I picked it up on the recommendation of a friend whose taste in books I really trust, and I'm so glad I did. Just read the first page or two and you'll be hooked.

We eat up these lovingly crafted character descriptions, and don't realize that we're being set up from page 1, preparing us to accept, for example, the thing that happens on page 218.

I got that feeling after I read Imajica.

I'll have to put this book on my list :)
