I think in celebration of the New Year I will turn my heat up past 55 degrees. I can't wait until that siding is done to see if it will be warmer in here.
Most heat loss in older homes is through the roof - it would be good to get into the attics and just roll out more insullation. The kind without paper on either side. You can get it at Lowe's or Home Depot. It'll make you itch, and you should wear one of those el-cheapo masks that cover your nose and mouth when you work with it. It's a do-it-yourself project that can really make a difference.
