Red Versus The Bad Wolf: An AU Fanvid

I made a thing! It's not perfect, but I have a feeling I'll have to finish my existing projects and re-import all of my DW episodes to start anew. My editing program hates me...mostly from an audio rendering standpoint.

I'm very much a Doctor/Donna fan, but this is a tragic AU. You've been warned.

I love that you let him shed a tear for Donna here, because he wasn't allowed to show that amount of emotion for her in the show.

How I WISH the Doctor had wept over Donna like that! Then again, we all know that a stoic and silent Doctor is far more broken and dangerous than an emotional Doctor. I'm convinced that Donna's departure triggered the Time Lord Victorious.

You've got that right! I think it said a lot more that he didn't cry. He was numb, and totally shattered by Donna's loss, more than anyone else. He did spiral out of control, into the Time Lord Victorious because he absolutely wouldn't/couldn't take on another companion after her. He never moved on, became reckless and ended up needing to regenerate.

As for Eleven, he just hid everything, too, behind a seemingly jovial front. Still, there were moments you could see his grief for Donna was there. He almost cringed when Amy said she was his best friend, never responded to that. When he was trying to use a voice interface, he showed that he was upset when a hologram of Rose appeared, same for Martha. When Donna appeared, he literally screamed out.

Donna really was the only one who could literally stop him, who appreciated him as the alien he was and didn't try to make him into a human, and really helped share his burdens. I guess he's leaving up to us to cry for the way she left... not by choice, but by his own hand.
