I was wondering if he was going to find the ring, oops, biodamper, since she kept it with her in bed. That was sweet how he re-biodamped her, and yes, it's no wonder everyone thinks they are married!

Clever use of the good things/bad things speech. The Doctor kept that in his mind, didn't he, even through a regeneration?

So she wanted to go to a spa. Truth be told, he should have taken advantage, too, Donna was right on that score. He leads such a difficult and stressful life, he could have used a day of massages and pampering as much as Donna.

Partners and mates... and biodamped, too! For better or for worse.

Lovely story! It filled in an important gap.

I wasn't going to leave the ring neglected. It was always going to come back to that ( ... )

I'd like to think he remembers Donna even through regeneration. She was definitely a wise and compassionate friend to him. Eleven buried a lot in his time, but every once in awhile, there was a moment where I think he was thinking of Donna. Like when Amy tried to tell him she was his best friend, he cringed a bit and didn't answer her. Like when he was talking to those interfaces (Rose, Martha) and literally screamed when Donna's form took shape.

I wonder if Ten took the biodamper when he had to leave her at the end, and what he might have done with it. Might he be keeping it in his bed, even through regenerations?

I like to think Donna kept the biodamper...and maybe sometimes she wears it because it makes her feel safe. She's not fully human when the Doctor drops her off back home, so I think the ring keeps her unique biosignature hidden from any enemies wanting to find Time Lord DNA/energy. Maybe after she marries Shaun she doesn't wear it on her ring finger, but maybe on a necklace...and he is understanding because it's a link to her missing time/memories? I dunno.

I just like to think she kept the ring and that it served a purpose later on. :-)

*sniffles* This was lovely, and the ending dialogue? Priceless. I can't think of anything else to say right now.

"Well it's no wonder people think we're married,"
Nope, can't think why they'd do that at all. Ha ha ha!

This was lovely!! It was just what I needed to cheer myself up. Thank you. :D

There's no reason for everyone in all of time and space to think they're married. Nope. None at all. *shifty eyes*

Glad you liked it. Love your icon, btw!

brilliant first fic love, although now I feel I really must do what I always do after reading a "first" and that's encourage a second one, so how about the aftermath of that spa trip?

I don't know that I could do justice to the aftermath of Midnight. I've had several false starts with that one already...maybe because I've read so many, I feel like I don't have a fresh take on it.

I am working on a "deleted scene" fic for another Doctor/Donna moment in the series, however. I will most likely post it this weekend, so keep an eye out for that.

Oh this is a perfect, beautiful ending (or beginning?!) I just adore this. SO much. The tenderness is so lovely, and him worrying she'd want to go home, pfft. I loved when she reassured him ♥

Aw, yay! I'm glad you liked it! I don't plan on doing anymore with this one, but I like to think it was the beginning of "something more" in their relationship...all off screen, of course. I'm a sucker for possible missing scenes with these two. <3
