We lose to Sweden EVERY SINGLE TIME we're in the finals against them. This is only the second time ever we have won the Championships. I'm dying of excitementtttttt.
There's a tradition in Sweden to make songs (not only in hockey, football also) before a big tournament. In 1995 the song (Den Glider In...) was written before the games started. The whole national team sang that song as a opening act for the home tournament and the new arena, Globen, with a real artist, Nick Borgen. It was a big hit, not only in Sweden but also in Finland after their gold.
My fave team Luleå HF won the swedish league (for the first and only time, yet), the year after (1996) Finland won their first gold. So I'm hoping for a Luleå win next season/year. ;) Perhaps Luleå and Finland are linked. :)
Oh yes, Den Glider in. That's a song every finnish person knows. Even kids. We learnt it at primary school when we first started studying Swedish. It's really a huge song here. And aww yeah, it's cool that you have songs.
Oooh! Good luck for Luleå!! I don't really follow the Finnish Hockey League but i can say with pride that my favourite team is always at the bottom of the list ♥
