So, I've been needing a new hobby. I've mastered painting and knitting (ha! no.), so now I need a new obsession.

So I was thinking of taking up sewing!

I want to learn how to sew too! There are so many cute skirts in the stores that are WAY too much money to buy, but I bet super cheap to make.

yeah, there's a shop near my apt that has the awesomest skirts ever, and they're handmade or something, but they're like 50 bucks!

sewing machines are expensive though! i'm going to look into it though...

Ok, I have a solution for you.

Ask your grandmothers and other such old people if they have a sewing machine they don't use. All I had to do was mention that I wanted a sewing machine out loud in front of a group of old ladies, and now I have 2!

They are cool, too, because they are actual antique furniture pieces, not just an $180 table top thing.

I haven't learned how to use them yet, but it's on the to-do list. Once I get comfortable on them, I may buy a new one if it does fancy things, but for now I am good.
