top 10 lists piss me off too, because i completely left out Stars, She & Him, and Islands. i actually spent a lot of time (most of it at work) thinking about this list, and i thought i didn't forget anything. ugh, oh well. also, to be honest, i had to look up a lot of the release dates for the albums. i couldn't believe some of them came out in 2008.
i know what you mean about not listening to music enough. i used to be really diligent with trying to find new bands - reading a lot of music magazines and reaping all sorts of awesome from last.fm, but i've been slacking. i've come to accept it though; i feel like when you're ready for it, good music will find you when the time is right. like right now, i'm SUPER into the Pixies, especially Come on Pilgrim. i've had this album for years and never gave it that much time, but now it's all i crave. i don't question it, i just let it happen ( ... )
