Mine is on its last legs, lost the videocard slot on the motherboard and had to fit one onto a secondary slot, works like crap now. I'm just waiting till I can find a deal on a unit with an i7 930 processor, a decent motherboard, wireless entertainment stuff, decent videocard. Hoping to do that for $1,000
Hope you find a good one!starshinewaySeptember 25 2010, 09:10:52 UTC
Yes, now the new school year has started over here (and all the kids have their new computers) I'm hoping there will be some good deals around too, but first I want to see if my old car gets through it's annual road test without too much expense (due next month), before I finally set my computer budget. In the meantime, the "playing around" with this one is, ummmm, an "interesting learning experience" lol!
Of course, once I get a new one, I shall have to do something about getting a flat-screen (well, when I still had the cat, she did so love to sit on the monitor) and changing my old dial-up internet connection too ... the 21st century may actually arrive at my place some time soon ;)

Mine just needed a muffler. I found a place close by that sells used tires. Got a practically new one for $25 mounted and balanced! Used tires from now on.

Well I had a bit of trouble with mine. The MOT test was due on 10th, but on Friday 1st I went out to my car only to find that the driver's wing-mirror had been wrenched off by louts, who I heard late the night before in the street, but had taken no notice of. Saturday I rushed down to the garage and asked for the whole wing mirror assembly to be replaced urgently, as the car would not pass its test without one. Now I go to the Muslim garage next door to the local mosque, they are friendly, cheap and I find them to be honest, and besides, I have known some of the lads for years, since mt dear old Dad used to do the books for his garage owning friend Archie, who was Indian police trained and trained most of them. Karuyan, the Moroccan guy, immediately phoned three parts suppliers, who all said the part was no longer available because "Old Faithful" was now 24 years old and Peugeot no longer made the parts for her
