Saying goodbye to an awesome decade...part 1

Dec 30, 2009 15:43

I can't freaking believe it's 2010!! Remember when that seemed so far away? Gosh for all I know there would have been flying cars and everything would be like the Jetsons by now lol  From 2000 to 2010 so much has happened and so many things have changed my life and have influenced me in the choices I have made. This is a huge pic spam tribute to the films, music, television, people, and other unmentioned things that I loved within the past 10 years.

2000

I was just finishing up my last year in middle school. I was an 8th grader. The top dogs of the school, I was involved in choir more than I had in 6th and 7th grade, I had the opportunity to perform at the high school dances even if it was only one song... This year I became involved in a workshop with a performance group called the Young Americans (YA'S) and I became an instant fan.. I had wanted to audition but I was too young at the time so I had to wait until the next time they stopped by our school.

FILMS

Bring It On- To this day I remember all the words to this movie. Kristen Dunst was really in her prime compared to now and also loved Eliza Dushku and Jesse Bradford.. There are some great one-liners in this movie and I must say watching this movie over again now..there's alot of adult jokes I get now lol  After that many BIO films where made but none of them come close to the first one.
Miss Congeniality- "You think I'm gorgeous! You want to kiiiiss me!" Who didn't love this movie? I think I discovered Sandra Bullock whilst watching this movie..and I really loved the chemistry between her and Benjamin Bratt. The second one was nowhere near as good as this one.
Scream 3- The final piece of the trilogy.. you have to understand that my friend Chelsea and I were completely OBSESSED with this movie.. we bought all the movies and she bought the Scream screenplay for the first one and we would recite them hahaha but this one was good, again not like the original but lots of Dewey and Gale moments and it closed it up nicely. I'm sad that Randy Meeks died in the 2nd film (one of my favorite characters) but I'm glad we got some of him in the last one.
Remeber the Titans- This movie was one of the best. It doesn't matter how many times you could watch it and it would still be such a heart warming story. They really picked a great group of cast memebers.. We are the Titans! The mighty mighty Titans!
Model Behavior- I still love this movie whenever it's on the Disney Channel.. 2000 was the year of Nsync and Justin Timberlake and EVERY girl pretty much fell in love with him.. I have to admit I was one of them lol also a young Sean from Degrassi.. which is funny to look back on now lol
Zenon- Zetus La Pedis! I know that this movie didn't come out in 2000 but they played on Disney and I loved this movie so much, I had to add it. Protazoa and My super nova girl is on my ipod now. True Story

MUSIC

Two Guys, a girl and a pizza place- LOVED this show!! seriously. I had the biggest crush on Berg who was played by Ryan Reynolds lol and I was sad when they sold the pizza place..

Even Stevens- SHIA!!!! What a fun show... still watch the re-runs

2001
In fall of 2001 I became a high schooler. Freshman year was full of new experiences. Everything seemed so big, our high school seemed so overwhelming.  always rocked the freshmen back pack. A terrible tragedy occured on September 11 of this year. I think if you ask anyone where they were and what they were doing when  this happened they could tell you. I was at an assembly for all the ninth graders and it was some public speaker with two different colored shoes because he was ADD of something.. but anyways we were walking back from the assembly on our way to Miss Antonelli's class when the 1st plane hit and watched the 2nd one hit shortly after. So many lives were lost that day and no one could have predicted it.

Films

Whatever it takes- The discovery of Shane West and James Franco.. this movie is a classic in my book. I love you Bryan Ryan!
American Pie- I begged and pleaded with my mom to let me watch this movie...and when I kept getting denied my friends Chelsea, Jenny and I rode our bikes to Blockbuster Video bought the movie and rode back to Chelsea's house and watched it up in her room all secretive lol still a classic.
Get Over It- again not a well known movie but I loved it to pieces Shane West, Sisqo,Kirsten Dunst and Martin Short...Put your hand down little steve!!
Legally Blonde- That was my movie. I wanted to be like Elle soo bad.
Moulin Rouge!- Gorgeous! Spectacular! Ewan and Nicole!! I love this story and the music.. and pretty scenery and loved how they incorporated new songs into an old story. Elephant Love Medley still gives me chills whenever I hear it
Josie and The Pussy Cats- this movie is pure fun. that's all. Got many people telling me I looked like Tara Reid after that movie.
Princess Diaries- Love this movie. Young Anne Hathaway  was perfect in this role as Mia
Zoolander- So many quotable lines. I remember when I saw this in theatres and it was my first date and my mom went with us because she was overprotective...still is for that matter. Will Ferrell and Ben Stiller are hilarious
Not Another Teen Movie- This movie is great! t made me go back and rent every teen 80's flick I could find in order to get the references also.. Chris Evans
Shrek- The first one was the best. Everyone and their mom were quoting this one too..
