i apparently never finished reading Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs (i read half of it a few years ago, got distracted by another book and never got back to it..i have a terrible habit of doing this) so that was read on the airplane

Rape Of Nanking (Iris Chang) - i will bring this with me when we hang out for you to borrow

The Inferno (Dante Aligheri)

Lullaby and Haunted (Chuck Palahniuk)

The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns (Khaled Housseini - sp?)

i also started reading a book my uncle had about the history of pedophilia in the catholic church but i couldn't bring it back with me because he wasn't finished with it. also, it was in spanish, so i think you might have trouble reading that!

Banks are the devil. Chicago is awesome. You should move here. It's not boring, but kinda expensive. Are you still coming to visit the 19th?

I'm super broke too, but there are lots of awesome cheap/free things we can do around here. Bike riding on the lakefront trail (I have an extra bike you can use), picnic in the park or on the beach, thrifting in little Puerto Rico, Free movies in the park after dusk, play in the fountains at millennium park, Also the libraries here have free passes to all the Chicago museums available for check out. Most are free if you have a student ID, but the ones that aren't we can get passes for.

I want to hear all about your time in Spain and how you've been since the last time we talked. I know it's been quite a while.

i would like to do all of the above. including moving to chicago. but i can't do that right now.

yes, i believe i'm coming - my boss scheduled me, even though i requested it off..it was a bit of a misunderstanding but she said there shouldn't be a problem getting those shifts covered. i was actually coming out the 18th-20th if that's cool - i figured it would make my megabus ride more worth it.

i unfortunately have to wait till monday to know for sure if my shifts can be covered, but i will have $50-$60 for the weekend, hopefully that's enough!

ok. Sunday is the last day of Pitchfork. It will be amazing and awesome and full of amazing awesomeness.

Here's who is playing:
Spoon
Dinosaur Jr.
Spiritualized
M. Ward
Ghostface and Raekwon
Les Savy Fav
The Apples in Stereo
Boris
Dirty Projectors
Times New Viking
Cut Copy
Bon Iver
Dodos
Occidental Brothers Dance Band International
King Khan & His Shrines
El Guincho
HEALTH
High Places
Mahjongg

I would really like to go. I mean really really like to go. Tix are $30.00. This is pricey and eliminates almost half of your spending money whilst in town. I can get the tickets in advance and you can pay me whatever you can before you leave. Let me know if this works so I can get them before they're gone.

that's a mighty good list of bands that i will also not be seeing this weekend while covering Quitty McQuitterson's shifts. :[

to further prove that karma's working against me...kitty also peed on one of your gifts from spain. they were small and retarded things, but also a thank you for letting me stay with you. i have kept the other two away for safe keeping. *sighs defeatedly and rolls eyes*

That works! I'll have to work one of the two jobs that friday, but I'm not sure which one. I will let you know by mid week, but it shouldn't be a problem. What time does your bus arrive? I'll figure something out if it happens that you arrive while I'm at work.

That's more than enough $$$. I've got a stock load of beer in the fridge, so we don't have to pay for booze all the time and I also am doing mammoth grocery shopping this sunday, so no worries about food (We'll need to eat as much of it as possible since I'm leaving for vacation on Sunday Night, the 20th. I'm going to Pittsburgh for a couple of days.)

Yay! I'm so excited to see you!
